Residents and guests at The Terraces at Bonita Springs are better equipped to declutter and get organized thanks to a lively, interactive presentation by Naples’ PREMIER Professional Organizer® and Naples Daily News Get Organized columnist Marla Ottenstein which took place on March 6 and 7.
Whether you are facing important life changes, or downsizing to a smaller residence, Marla explained getting organized is not as tough as it sounds. She says choosing what stays and what goes is like choosing your friends — the goal is to surround yourself with only those things that make you happy. When it comes to letting go, ask yourself:
- Do I love it?
- Do I need it?
- Have I used it in the past year?
- Will it physically fit in my new home?
- Will it “fit” my new lifestyle?
- Is the cost of keeping something worth the expense?
Marla’s unique technique of engaging her clients in the process has proven extremely successful, and her clients have learned to keep their homes, offices and lives organized and clutter-free. As Marla repeatedly said, “Your kids don’t want your stuff.”
The audiences at The Terraces were attentive and engaged, asking many questions about how to begin the organizing process in preparation for a move from a single family home to an apartment.
Marla’s presentation was part of an ongoing series of speaker events that take place at The Terraces at Bonita Springs throughout the year.
